About Dr Allen Lim

Dr Allen Lim obtained his medical degree in 1996, graduating with Honours from Monash University in Melbourne. He spent his Internship year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and a Resident year at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He then crossed the Tasman to New Zealand, where he completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology in Auckland. He also spent a Fellowship year attached to the NZ Liver Transplant Unit and was involved in Hepatitis and Liver Cancer research.

Dr Lim has the training and experience to deal with a diverse variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. He is accredited by the Australian Conjoint Committee to perform diagnostic and interventional gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Lim moved to the Gold Coast region with his family in 2006, and spent 6 years in public service, working at the Tweed Hospital. During his time there, he contributed greatly to the training of medical students and junior doctors. He was awarded academic titles by Bond University (Assistant Professor) and Griffith University (Senior Lecturer).

Dr Lim commenced practice at John Flynn Private Hospital in 2007. He has served as their Head of Department of Gastroenterology since then, until June 2013.

Dr Lim retired from the rigors of public service in 2012 and now concentrates on providing quality healthcare for the people of this region through his private practices at Robina Private Hospital and Tweed Day Surgery.
